I am Lexie, a high school junior who attends Johnson High School and does the Dual Enrollment program. I am also part of Honors Mentorship which has introduced me into the world of nursing closely. I have wanted to be a nurse since I was a little girl watching my grandfather go through the journey of battling cancer. I enjoy helping others and solving problems which has helped me in the Emergency Room setting where I have been placed for this mentorship. On a note other than the medical field, I am 17 years old and love spending time with friends outside. I also love children which has helped me make my decision to go into pediatrics when I finish nursing school. I also love dealing with the traumas that come in the Emergency Room so I would love to work in a trauma certified pediatric Emergency Room like the ones for Children’s' Healthcare of America (CHOA).
